
It seems that Russian engineers have developed motorised boots. They have a titanium frame to keep weight down to just over 2 Kg each and this includes the weight of a small combustion engine in each boot which propels the wearer forwards as he takes each step. Apparently, you get used to using the boots within a few minutes, so that you can disappear towards the horizon at high speed, leaving a little clound of exhaust gas behind.
Fuel economy is fine - you can travel about 20 Km on one filling (the tank contains 40 gramms of petrol and fits in the heel). The price will ensure that the boots remain relatively exclusive - they cost 910 Euro a pair. Even so, they have 1000 orders up front in the pipeline.
