Scientists in Hong Kong have claimed a key breakthrough against the virulent form of pneumonia which is claiming new victims around the world.
The researchers have identified the mystery illness as belonging to the family of viruses resposible for mumps and measles, but much more work is needed to establish whether it is curable.
