Short items
Here a several items that caught my eye in the last day or two:
- Six of one and half a dozen of the other?Ibuprofen, often prescribed as a pain killer instead of aspirin, seems to be bad for your small intestine. Both drugs are classified as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). It is known that NSAIDS can cause damage to your stomach if taken over an extended period, but little research on effects on the small instine has been published.
- About time: The UK housing market is showing signs of returning to prices more in line with historical values.
- Obvious: Preston Gralla lists Five things Microsoft won’t do in 2005 – but should.
- Massive fine threatened: A New Jersey man, who shone a laser into the cockpit of a plane which was about to land, has been charged with interfering with the operator of a mass transportation vehicle and making false statements to the FBI, and was released on $100,000 bail. He could get up to 25 years in prison and fines of up to $500,000.
